Kansas City Renaissance Festival - My home festival, I grew up attending and told my parents when I was a kid “I will get a job here when I’m older.” They told me I would be unable to, because at that point in time the whole festival was volunteer. Fast forward to 2005 and I went out and got a job at the festival. Since then I no longer work there but go around photographing and recording the shows.

Central Missouri Renaissance Festival is a slightly newer festival for me. It has quickly become a second home festival that combines the Kansas City and St Louis fairemlies (that is faire family for anyone who doesn’t know).

The ST. Louis Renaissance Festival always happens at the same time as the Kansas City Festival, so I have only gotten to go once. During Covid I made the 4 hour drive to an almost empty festival.

The Muskogee Renaissance Festival has always been a destination festival for me, just outside of a whimsy trip but close enough that with dedication a single whole day could get you there.
