Planet Comic Con Kansas City is one of the largest conventions in the city that combines both nerd culture and pop culture. Taking place at Bartle Hall downtown it opens a whole new world to those who attend.

Kansas City used to have two Comic Cons, unfortunately Kansas City Comic Con is now defunct. It had a good short run, but could just not sustain itself.

A hooot of a good time, the Emerald City Steampunk convention is unfortunately another defunct convention, Steampunk is a curious genre of nerdom. There are very weak rules of what it is and it is a very welcoming community.

Naka Kon is a joyous celebration of Japanese Culture in Overland Park Kansas. With all the kawaii outfits, anime, and cosplaying that one thinks of when they think of Japan.

I was invited by a cosplayer to drive down to Texas to get some photos of them. It was a fun convention dedicated to the Dragon Ball universe.
